I must share with you a quote that has my heart: “That moment you realize your bones are made from the same dust as the planets, your lungs breathing the air of migrating butterflies, and your blood is pumping because of the love and care of thousands; Is when you realize you’re not as broken or alone as you think you are. You are full of the world.”
How stunning is that quote? I don’t take the word stunning lightly and come to think of it, I don’t use the word stunning much at all. I suppose this is a good thing because then when I do proclaim that something is stunning, I genuinely mean it.
We are all full of the world. It’s true.
I am obviously a proponent of gratitude and I think we are all better off becoming more aware of the great things we have in our lives. Another quote that has my heart is this one: “The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude…I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you…we are in charge of our attitudes.” ~Charles R Swindoll
Don’t you think that quote is as nourishing for your mind as this warm crumble would be if you prepared it for your body? This recipe also has my heart, but in a tastier sort of way! I did add fresh pomegranates to the already baked pie, which was in part because I had large quantities of pomegranates in my fridge, but also because I loved them mixed into this warm crumble.
I made homemade coconut milk vanilla ice cream to go on top, but it ended up melting so quickly! This, of course, did not make it any less delicious. I will be sharing that ice cream recipe with you soon! Cool ice cream on top of a warmed fruit crumble really does hit the spot. In my opinion, it doesn’t matter what season it is! This is a year-round favorite.
I hope you love this recipe as much as I do!
